DIRECTIONS
From Split harbour
There are several catamarans and speedboats maintained by “Jadrolinija” and “Krilo Jet” companies (foot passengers only – for vehicles transport use ferry lines: “Split – Stari Grad” or “Drvenik – Sućuraj”). Important: In high season, these lines might be overbooked so keep in mind to grab your tickets as a first thing on arrival to Split or book it online in advance (recommended). Find schedules and online booking at www.jadrolinija.hr and www.krilo.hr (please check both sites).
Local ferry for vehicles and foot passengers maintained by “Jadrolinija” company. This is also good option to reach Hvar Town, especially if you want to transport your vehicle to the island (check the prices online at www.jadrolinija.hr). Once you have reached Stari Grad, for further instructions to reach Hvar Town please continue to the text “From Stari Grad” below.
You can arrange your very own speedboat or even a yacht with skipper at any time or specific location you prefer. You might also arrange affordable price per boat, no matter how many people you need to transfer. The price depends on the boat size and quality. It’s usually around 200€ – 500€. Bigger boats are more comfortable, behave more stable on the sea and transport more people. Private taxi speedboat is required to be arranged in advance and it can take you not only to Hvar harbour but to any location in Hvar you prefer. You can find more information at Čane transfers.
Local catamaran line “Split – Bol (Brač) – Jelsa” maintained by “Jadrolinija” (foot passengers only). Not recommended route since it’s located further from Hvar Town than Stari Grad. It’s also good option if you are planning to visit Bol and “Zlatni Rat” beach on Brač Island. Once you have reached Jelsa, for further instructions to reach Hvar Town please continue to the text “From Jelsa” below.
From Split airport
After leaving a plane, right in front of the airport entrance you will find shuttle handled by “Croatia Airlines” to take you directly to Split harbour. Please find more information at www.plesoprijevoz.hr. Once you have reached Split harbour, for further instructions to reach Hvar Town please continue to the text “From Split harbour” above.
There is also regular public bus line number 37 and 38. Bus station is located 50m from the airport on the main road. Use the bus station in direction of Split on the southern side of a road, which is opposite to the airport location (bus station on the sea side). Buses 37 and 38 will take you to Split bus station “Sukoišanska” which is the last stop after 50-60min. From there you can go to Split harbour by walking (20min, recommended) or use your ticket to switch the bus towards “Pazar” bus station where Split harbour is located. Find the schedule here: www.promet-split.hr (Important: Look for bus line 37 direction “Trogir – Split”).
